Accessibility Guidelines - This
document contains scoping and technical requirements for
accessibility to buildings and facilities by individuals
with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) of 1990. The document includes all provisions
adopted by the Access Board as final guidance. Recent additions
are not enforceable until adopted by the US Department
of Justice. The recent additions are clearly marked.

funds. State and Local government entities may also opt
to use these standards instead of the ADAAG.

Access Board issued these final guidelines to provide additional
guidance to the Department of Justice and the Department
of Transportation in establishing accessibility standards
for new construction and alterations of state and local
government facilities covered by title II of the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.

Size Standards - Final
guidelines to provide additional guidance to the Department
of Justice and the Department of Transportation in establishing
alternate specifications for building elements designed
for use by children. These specifications are based on
children's dimensions and anthropometrics and apply to

Museums
- Creating
Accessible Exhibits - This
document contains guidelines as well as design tools developed
by the Smithsonian Institution. The guidelines are in part
based on construction standards established for the Architectural
Barriers Act of 1968, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and
the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. They represent
Smithsonian methods for arriving at the laws' required
end: accessible exhibitions that work for people with disabilities
as well as for the rest of the public. Together the guidelines
become the Smithsonian standard for accessible exhibition
design.
