Q: What training opportunities are available through the center?

A: Each month we offer two-hour ADA training sessions at our Colorado Springs facility. Each session addresses a specific topic on the ADA. These informative trainings are useful for people with extensive ADA experience as well as for those who are just learning about the ADA. At the conclusion of each session, participants have a working knowledge of the subject matter, knowledge of additional resources, and a network of people to share ADA concerns with in the future. Sessions are from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., MT and the cost is $15 per person, including handouts and lunch.

The DBTAC also offers monthly distance learning opportunities. Each session is delivered via telephone conference call. Sessions are scheduled for 1 PM Central Time (12 noon Mountain Time) and last approximately 90 minutes unless otherwise noted. Pre-registration is required. The cost per session is $40 for for-profit organizations or $25 for government or nonprofit agencies.

Call the center at 800/949-4232 (V, TTY) for more information about training opportunities.

Q: What topics do you cover with your training sessions?

A: We offer a comprehensive list of ADA related topics. A description of some of the sessions can be seen at Training Topics.

DBTAC staff can also tailor a training session to meet the specific needs of your organization or company. Call the center for more information about custom training sessions for your event.

Q: I think our organization is interested in scheduling training. However, we're not sure what topics we should cover or what our training needs are. Can you help?

A: Use the Needs Assessment Form to identify the areas of knowledge you'd like to cover during your session. Complete the form and the training coordinator will call to discuss training options based on your responses.

Q: How can I request a DBTAC training session for my event?

A: All you need to do is fill out the Training Request Form and a DBTAC staff member will call you to discuss your training request information.

Q: How much do you charge for training sessions?

A: The DBTAC asks training session sponsors to share 25% of the cost of training. This fee includes materials.

Q: How many people do we need to schedule a session with the DBTAC?

A: Training sessions are available on any ADA topic for large or small groups. We request that a minimum of 10 attendees be secured prior to submitting a Training Request Form.

Q: Will DBTAC staff members travel to attend my event?

A: The center provides trainings for audiences in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. With enough prior notice, we will travel to attend your event. Please note, we ask that the sponsoring entity cover 25% of our training and travel costs.
