Meeting the Challenge, Inc. (http://www.mtc-inc.com/ ) is a small business in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We have been in business since 1989 and have been operating a regional Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Information Center for the U. S. Department of Education continuously since 1991. We serve the six state Federal region 8, comprising Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and North and South Dakota. We employ eleven staff, most of whom work full or part-time on the ADA Center. The ADA Center provides information, training, and technical assistance about the Americans with Disabilities Act. These services are provided to businesses, state and local government agencies, persons with disabilities, architects, building code officials, schools, transit providers, and many other entities with rights and responsibilities under the ADA (see http://adata.org/ for more detailed information). As one of ten ADA Centers, we act as a "one-stop" comprehensive resource on ADA issues in employment, public services (such as transportation), public accommodations, and communications. Each Center works closely with local business, disability, governmental, rehabilitation, and other professional networks to provide ADA information and assistance.
In 2003, we formed a Canadian subsidiary, called MTC Canada, located in Vancouver, BC. This company distributes some of our disability products in the Canadian market and also provides an entity through which to offer consulting services to Canadian clients.
